Life lessons often come in interesting packages.
I bought a new vegetable peeler recently, and I love it.
Love a potato peeler? Well, yes. (I realize this post probably falls close to the edge of "No One Cares What You Had for Lunch.")
My previous one was an ancient, dull stainless steel beast that most people probably would have thrown away a long time ago. Probably any new peeler would have been a big step up!
While it didn’t change my whole life, my experience with this new slicer of heaven made me realize that:
– I will at times let myself struggle unnessarily; and
– The right tool for the job makes a huge difference in my experience and attitude.
I was happier peeling my potatoes with a tool that worked, and worked with me. The job was easier.
Life fulfillment through peeling potatoes? Perhaps that’s going too far, but giving up my struggle with forcing my cruddy dull peeler to work somehow gave me a little freedom.

What struggle are you ready to give up?
What will be available to you once you let go of it?
Jodee Bock says
Hanna: It’s so good to hear from you! I like your story about the peeler … I’m ready to give up thinking I have to run my business by myself. As I’ve let go of that, I notice that the relief and extra space that creates allows other people to come into my space and help me create ideas for the business. It’s amazing.
Again, great to hear from you! I’ll look forward to meeting one of these days – in Fargo or Minneapolis!
